Janet Leigh, born on July 6, 1927, in Merced, California – died October 3, 2004, in Beverly Hills, California, was an American actress. She became a major Hollywood star in the 1940s and 1950s, appearing in films such as Little Women (1949) and Touch of Evil (1958). Leigh is best remembered for her role as Marion Crane in Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho (1960), which earned her a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination. She was married to actor Tony Curtis, and their daughter Jamie Lee Curtis also became a successful actress.
